Learn the basic art of basketry in this course for beginners. Historically, any basket with a flat bottom, either square or rectangular has been broadly classified as a market basket. You will be guided step by step through each stage of the basket-making process while creating a rectangular market basket measuring approximately 7” x 10”, using rattan reed. You will learn various weaving techniques that will help you gain the knowledge needed to continue with this craft. A material fee will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of the first class.
